High-quality filter media is essential when plants need dependable filtration capacity, lower pressure issues, and predictable treated-water quality. We supply standard and specialty media for industrial process lines, technical service-water circuits, groundwater conditioning, and polishing stages where media performance strongly affects final output.

Filter media: quartz sand, activated carbon, anthracite, and more
Filtration is the physical step that captures the flocs produced by chemical treatment and the remaining particles; its performance depends largely on bed media quality. Quartz sand holds suspended solids, anthracite enables depth filtration in multi-layer beds, activated carbon adsorbs chlorine, odor, taste, and organic micro-pollutants, and manganese greensand removes iron and manganese.
Media selection weighs grain size (effective diameter), uniformity coefficient, bed height, and backwash velocity together; wrong grading causes breakthrough or premature clogging. All media are supplied graded for the application, with certificates of analysis.
Media selection and replacement planning
Activated carbon is replaced when its adsorption capacity is spent (typically 12-36 months); sand and anthracite beds due to attrition and fouling (typically 3-5 years). Rapidly rising pressure drop, declining outlet quality, and more frequent backwashing are the replacement signals.
Aqua Global ships filter media in big bags and sacks across Uzbekistan and provides engineering support for bed design, layering, and replacement campaigns. For plants building sand-carbon pretreatment before RO, we offer a complete package together with antiscalant and SMBS.
Filter media pricing and large-volume supply
Filter media pricing (quartz sand, anthracite, activated carbon, manganese greensand) varies by particle size grade, purity level, and order volume; bulk big-bag supply significantly lowers unit cost for large facility projects. For activated carbon, quality parameters such as iodine number directly affect adsorption capacity and therefore replacement interval.
Aqua Global supplies media for new filter bed installations and existing bed renewals across Uzbekistan; we provide engineering support for layering plans, media loading calculations, and backwash parameters.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which filter media removes what?
Quartz sand removes suspended solids and turbidity, anthracite handles deep particle loading, activated carbon removes chlorine, odor, taste, and organics, and manganese greensand removes iron and manganese. Multi-layer beds combine them.
How often is filter media replaced?
Activated carbon typically every 12-36 months, sand and anthracite every 3-5 years; actual life depends on water quality and operation. Rising pressure drop and falling outlet quality are the clearest signals.
What is a multimedia filter bed?
Layering media of different densities in one vessel (coarse, light anthracite on top; fine, heavy sand below). It enables depth filtration: longer run times, less backwash, better outlet quality.
What information is needed to order filter media?
Vessel diameter and height, current/target media layering, flow rate, and feed water quality are enough for us to calculate the right particle size grade, required quantity, and layering plan for a quote.
